You got a password reset email you did not ask for.

Do not panic. Sometimes it is a mistake. Sometimes someone is testing the front door. Either way, you can handle it carefully.

What is probably happening

Someone may have typed your email by accident, or someone may be trying to get into the account.

What to try first.

  1. Do not click the reset link in the email.
  2. Go to the real website or app yourself.
  3. If you can sign in, turn on two-step sign-in if it is available.
  4. If you reuse that password anywhere else, change it on those sites too.

What to send Lumaneta.

Short and plain is fine. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, card numbers, Social Security numbers, or private banking details.

  • Which account the email mentions.
  • Whether you requested the reset.
  • Whether you still have access to the account.
