TV and streaming
How do I change the input on my TV?
The input is the place the TV is watching: HDMI 1, HDMI 2, antenna, cable, or an app home screen. Changing input tells the TV where to look.
The short answer
Use the TV remote, press Input or Source, then choose the HDMI number that matches the port your device is plugged into.

Before you change settings
What to know first
What this usually means
- The cable remote controls channels but not TV input.
- The device is plugged into HDMI 2 but the TV is on HDMI 1.
- The input button has an icon instead of words.
- A universal remote is not set up for the TV.
Do not do this yet
- Do not unplug cables at random.
- Do not reset the TV to find an input.
- Do not download unofficial remote apps that ask for payment or too many permissions.
